I have recently been appointed to Starship as a General Paediatric Surgeon and Urologist with the majority of my elective work focused on Paediatric Urology. I am proud to be the first female appointment in the department in over 20 years. In addition to my clinical work I have a passion for education and mentorship and am regularly involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors and surgical trainees. I’m actively involved in the Board of Paediatric Surgical training and Paediatric Urology education through SPUNZA.
I was born and raised in snowy Toronto Canada where I completed my undergraduate degree in health science. I ventured to Sydney, Australia in search of some sun for my medical degree as an International Merit Scholarship recipient. After graduating I gained experience in Paediatrics, Surgery and Urology prior to staring my FRACS training. I was lucky to be sent to Starship for my first year of training and fell in love with NZ and my Kiwi husband. During my training I worked in Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. I was an active member of the Board of Paediatric Surgical training and was awarded the John Corboy Medal in 2018 for outstanding leadership, selfless service and tenacity.
Throughout my training, I have developed additional experience in Adult and Paediatric Urology and following completion of my Fellowship I spent 18 months gaining further specialised Paediatric Urology experience at Starship.
I’m thrilled to be settling in Auckland with husband and two young boys, and pride myself in looking after you and your children as if you were my own family.
